Ready Aim Fire

A Perfect Day!
My Dad drew out for the muzzleloader Elk hunt…it is like every 15 years you can go for this draw so he has been consumed with this hunt all summer. He is positive at his age it will be the last one he does like this. He has had his camp in the top of Lake Creek and this Sunday we packed up (me and the kids…John was working) and drove up to stay the day. It was a perfect afternoon, this is one of the first days this days all summer where I could spend this much time with my family and it was great to spend this time with my dad…it is rare. My dad bought a trap shoot sling (I guess that is what you call it) this summer. He has taken the boys several times this summer trap shooting I loved that I could now be there and I was so shocked how awesome they were! Blake and Carson can get 96% of every shot no matter from their position and Ben at age ten shooting a 12 gauge can hit dead on…it was fun Kim and I even gave a few shots…we went through 400 rounds of ammunition… and had a blast. I look forward to the next time we can get out together and shoot….making it more completive so I can show those boys their mom can shoot too!

Then we cooked a nice dutch oven dinner, rested by the camp fire, the boys went to get firewood while kim and I took a nap then we had dinner together. Went left camp at dark and all committed to next summer we are going to have a camper so we can go camping more. The kids shared all of their favorite memories and most of them were while we camping. And how we will have to do it more with grandpa Keith because we could all feel that it made him very happy too!
