This is the first garden I have ever grown. It is just a 8x10 garden box in my back yard. I planted everything and a few weeks later my mom came to visit and said…OH MY HECK you planted all that in there…you have way to much in such a small space you need to remove most of those plants. I have zuchinni, squash, pumpkins, corn, flowers, peas & broccoli! Well I removed a few of the zuchinni plants but left all the others. Oh and thank goodness that only the one pumkin plant made it because it is a grand daddy plant that is growing everywhere. The vines were over 25 feet long when Blake and I cut them back, it has taken over the entire garden. I never knew how much the boys would love the garden either. Blake and Ben have already made plans for next summer and they want their own. I planted the zinnias because every garden we had as a kid my mom & David always had lots of zinnias…next summer I am for sure planting more of them. It reminds me of how much I loved our family garden when I was a kid.
I took these photo early this morning as I was leaving for work, wishing I could stay home and garden all day…actually I was thinking I should still be sleeping.
