Fathers Day 2009

Today was Fathers Day…and I woke up thinking of every excuse or reason I could stay in bed. I was so so wiped out from the 18 hour gold day yesterday with only 2 hours of sleep. But I am glad I went to church today. Seeing my primary class was so uplifting…they had made me cards and were so happy to see me again, it touched me so much. We also moved to a new church building which was exciting for all of our ward.

Right after church Grandma Suzanne stopped by for a visit. She came to see grandpa Ray for Father’s day. It was a short visit I could tell she wanted to get back home where she feels most comfort and this was the farthest she had been away since the funeral. It was so good for us to see her and to hug her. My kids needed to see her. I have been so worried about her and missed her so much hoping this next week we will have time to go out for a visit.

Sunday naps are one of the best things EVER! But today I could not wake back up so John took the kids to see his Dad and ate lunch with his family.

When I woke up three hours later we went over to visit with my dad and then went for a drive in the mountains with our dad!

This is just what our family needed. Even though it is just a ride we were all together, telling stories, listening, sharing about our week, hearing about scout camp and letting John know what a great dad he is!

(these photos were a joke trying to get…at first I was getting upset telling each one to stay put, smile but then it turned into all of joking and laughing. We sat the camera on the hood of the truck and used the timer…not the best ever but they are priceless) This may be the last photos where the boys are not taller than John.

This day is just what I needed. Church reminded me of Gods plan and that he sent his only son here for us. That families can be together forever and I am so thankful for mine. We are so blessed to have healthy children and so thankful for Dad’s who do so much for us!
